Cooler mind and keep clear of politics please!

Brian Jones had been relishing the fact the the Standard Body of Malaysia (SIRIM) had imposed measures in an attempt to cool the ODF vs OpenXML debate.

Both ODF and OpenXML supporters, especially the commercial companies behind them, is really trying extremely hard to press their case, and in a lot of way, stay very near to the thin grey line of ethics and in a few cases, stray across the line. Before pro OpenXML supporter pop the champaign, lets not forget that whatever pro-ODF people is accused of doing in the committee, it is pale with respect to the pressure Microsoft put on the IT department for the state of Massachusett. Still, this is like pot calling the kettle black. Moreover, there are signs that Microsoft is not beyond this type of accusation.

This politiking is not unique to document format and is something ISO and SIRIM should act against. Recently, IEEE suspended the work on “Son of WiMAX” for the same reason.

Everyone involved in these type of action should be asham of themselves.
