Brian Proffitt is right again

Filed under: Uncategorized — ctrambler @ 12:26 pm

Yet another post about MS and GPLv3. This time, I think, is probably the most important post of all my posting on the topic.

Brian Proffitt is right when he argues that this spat makes interoperability between MS and Open source more difficult. We know that in the foreseeable future, corporate computing will be stuck in the heterogeneous environment where MS and Open source (particularly) Linux and its GPLv3’ed programs will have to coexists.

Let’s look at it rationally and not go into the long heated argument about who is to blame. Overall, the picture is bleak on interoperability.
