Don’t look a gived horse in the mouth

Peter Korn’s blogged on the availability of the document “Accessibility of Ecma Office Open XML File Formats“. I am glad he find it a useful document.  I think most of the concerns he has  is rather like someone complaining that somebody else forgotten to cross the “t”s and dot the “i”s, with exception of the WCAG 2.0 arguement.

As for his question on the appropriate use of WCAG guideline, especially that OOXML does not use W3C standards such as SVG and XForm, I think he is trying to score some political point here unfortunately. It is true that OOXML non-use of SVG and XForm reduces the relevancy of WCAG, but it is not totally invalidate it. Let’s face it. The poor author is told to “write an accessibility article for OOXML”, effectively making non-use of existings W3C standard an irrelevant question.
