INCITS No to OOXML… again

Filed under: Uncategorized — ctrambler @ 11:32 am

Kinda tired about this flip-flopping and strategic gaming, now it appears that INCITS might officially vote No. If you ask me, I say I will wait until NIST officially cast its vote in ISO before I how US will vote. It is a close call again. Not unexpected but not good to blood pressure of any participants, or outsiders like me. Some organization posted comments on how it voted. I haven’t gone through it thoroughly, but Andy Updegrove have a round up on the comments.

Of interest is Department of Defence’s concerns about “Binary information in the standard that would lead to security concerns”. That is a new one.
