SCO lawsuit is mostly over

Filed under: Uncategorized — ctrambler @ 11:53 am

Finally, we have some good news on the SCO lawsuits. As reported in Groklaw, SCO loses is significant. Nobody buys SCO’s theory.

As a lay person, the two significant development is Novell own Unix copyrights and have the right to direct SCO to waive its claims over IBM. The first one settles the main disagreement in Novell vs SCO, the second SCO vs IBM. There are remaining issues to settle in both cases, but they are more of a sideshow. The main show is over.

One still have to pity Novell. I do not think it is going to see any money due to it from SCO’s SUN and Microsoft agreement.

Wil SCO appeal? To me, I think it has nothing to lose in appeal.

Back to what people thinks is SCO’s purpose for pursuing the IBM lawsuit. Do anyone think IBM will buy out SCO now? For that matter, anyone?
