Norwegian fall out on OOXML

Filed under: Uncategorized — ctrambler @ 5:21 pm

The OOXML standardization fall out continues… committee members in Norway quit Norwegian’s standard body in protest. A few favorite excuse for brushing aside public criticism of OOXML standardization is (1)the public does not know the subject well enough to comment but members know better and (2)those national bodies are a member-only committee and the members felt that procedures are followed.

However, slowly, and one-at-a-time, we see holes in that armour. First, from Sweden, a tightening of procedure. Now we see in Norway a mass resignation in protests. More to come??
