Andy Updegrove updated his view on the Office PDF export issue. He is right in pointing out that the collateral damage is the meaning of Standard.
I somehow frame it differently as Adobe having to explain its view on the meaning of "Open Standard". We all know what Microsoft view of "Open Standard" is, so it will be interesting to see what Adobe really thinks what an "Open Standard" should be. It is one thing to hear what someone has to say and another to see what it does. Talk is cheap. My own narrow view is that Adobe is placed on the spotlight more than Microsoft when it comes to clarifying what the issue is, when it comes to standard. I missed the bigger picture, which is whatever both side choose to define what a standard actually mean, the real victim is what a Standard actually means.
